WATCH: Netflix announces Luke Cage Season 2 release date & trailer

Marvel’s bulletproof superhero, Luke Cage,  is back with a new season on 22 June 2018.

Harlem’s hero had a successful first season, which introduced us to characters such as Simone Missick’s Misty Knight; Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, and Theo Rossi as Shades. Season 2 once again has these three as well as Mike Colter as the titled character and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, as well as introducing Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis. The first episode of season 2 is directed by Lucy Liu.

Synopsis of season 2: 

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
